There isn&#8217;t much more I can add to this week of weather across the bluegrass state. This may go down as the warmest Christmas week of weather on record for this part of the world. It may also be one of the wettest with the potential for rounds of heavy rain to impact the region.<\/p>\n<p>Rain comes at us in waves between now and Christmas Eve. The NAM continues to indicate some hefty totals during this time&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/NAM9.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16792\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/NAM9.png\" alt=\"NAM\" width=\"332\" height=\"275\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/NAM9.png 332w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/NAM9-300x248.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 332px) 100vw, 332px\" \/><\/a>Thunderstorms will also be possible during this time.<\/p>\n<p>Temps during this time will surge and could break records from Tuesday through Thursday. Those temps may border on the absurd over the weekend if our heavy rain band moves just to the north.\u00a0 Record highs in the 70s would then be likely with this setup&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Euro17.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16791\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Euro17.png\" alt=\"Euro\" width=\"676\" height=\"541\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Euro17.png 676w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Euro17-300x240.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 676px) 100vw, 676px\" \/><\/a>There&#8217;s an outside chance for all time December high temps being set in a few cities. Much of that depends on how the heavy rain bands set up this weekend into next Monday. Those heavy bands may bring enough rain to cause local high water issues.<\/p>\n<p>Moral of the story for the weekend.. if the corridor of heaviest rains set up on us&#8230; it floods. If it sets up JUST to our north&#8230; Records fall in a big way.
