These can cause some very light accumulations for a few spots.

– A line of snow will develop and increase across southern Indiana and western Ohio overnight, and drop southeastward Tuesday morning. The radar won’t look terribly impressive until just before daybreak when that line really develops.

– Bands of moderate to heavy snow will be embedded within this line. Areas getting in on these bands can pick up a quick 2″ or 3″ of snow. Areas missing out on these bands will likely be closer to an inch. Don’t just look at the high end of the range. 🙂 My overall thoughts on accumulations haven’t changed…

– It doesn’t matter if you pick up a half inch or snow or 3″ of the white stuff… hazardous travel will develop.

– Winds may gust to 40mph at times, creating blowing snow.

– Temps crash as the snow band moves to our east into the afternoon and evening. Readings are in the teens by evening with single digits showing up Wednesday morning. Wind chills go below zero.

Looking down the road toward the weekend, we find things still on pace for a rain to snow system Friday into Saturday. That’s when a double barrel low pressure works across the eastern part of the country. As those go by to our northeast, arctic cold dives in from the northwest. The European Model for Saturday, Sunday and Monday is frigid…

Strong northwesterly winds could create several rounds of snow showers and squalls to go along with the bitter cold. We will also need to watch for a system trying to sneak in from the southwest early next week.

I will have a ton of tracking toys for you later tonight.
