Good evening, everyone. Midler winds are blowing across the bluegrass state into Thursday, but it’s all eyes on another big blast of arctic air for the weekend and early next week.<\/p>\n

The first system zips through here Friday with some rain that changes to some snow showers and flurries Friday night and Saturday.<\/p>\n

The arctic front coming in behind that for Sunday continues to look very strong. The European Model isn’t buying what the GFS has been selling with a southern storm at the same time…<\/p>\n

\"Euro\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Taken at face value, that’s a day similar to Yesterday, but with MUCH colder temperatures. Temps behind that may hit zero or below for some Monday or Tuesday. Wind chills would be even colder.<\/p>\n

The new GFS is still showing that southeast storm system for Sunday…<\/p>\n

When the GFS doesn’t have many friends, it’s hard to go with it. That said… the NAM at 84 hours isn’t exactly a hater. Notice the energy dropping in from the north and trying to catch the energy scooting across the Gulf…<\/p>\n

Later that same GFS model run shows another snow maker zipping through here by the middle of next week…<\/p>\n

It shows something else a few days after that…<\/p>\n

I only show that because I noticed something similar showing up at the same time on the Canadian Ensembles…<\/p>\n

Those are pressure anomalies and not temps, btw.<\/p>\n
