Our shower pattern on Friday was much as expected with southeastern Kentucky getting the bulk of the rain. Isolated showers worked into parts of central Kentucky as well. Many areas stayed dry.

As we go through this Saturday… it looks like our shower chances are a little bit higher for most of us! This does not mean you are going to see an all day rain… but I do think we will see the showers a bit farther west and a touch more concentrated than Friday. Some mixed sunshine will be with us too. Here is the rain forecast from the GFS for Saturday into early Sunday…

Wait a minute… wasn’t this the same model that had no rain in Kentucky for most of the past week while all of the other models were showing shower chances here? Yep… that’s the one. Maybe one day it’s followers will learn how to read it’s biases or look at another model to issue a forecast. Okay… Okay… no ranting right now. <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/emoticons\/smile.png\" border=\"0\" \/>

The model is getting a pretty good read on the big chill coming down the road for the middle and end of next week as it matches up pretty well with other models. Brrrrr!

While I am on the subject of the extended forecast… nice discussion from our buddy MJ over at the NWS in Louisville.
