Good Friday, everyone. A major winter storm is blowing across the bluegrass and will cause all kinds of issues. This storm has the potential to shutdown parts of the state before the day is over. Throw high winds into the mix, and you have yourselves one heck of a winter storm.<\/p>\n
There isn’t much more I can add to this, but I will try:<\/p>\n
– Freezing rain starts the storm in southern parts of the state. This can come down hard enough to cause some power issues before it switches over to snow.<\/p>\n
– The mix and snow reaches the Interstate 64 corridor near daybreak then slowly works to the north from there. Don’t panic if you wake up and nothing has happened, yet.<\/p>\n
-Significant snow totals are likely for most of the state. Amounts can reach a foot or more in the areas I have been outlining.<\/p>\n
– Winds will crank up as the day wears on and this will cause blowing and drifting snow. This is what can cause roads to be shut down for a time.<\/p>\n
– Thunder is even possible with this event… especially in the south and east.<\/p>\n
At this point, It’s all about tracking the progress of the storm and getting real time updates from where you live.<\/p>\n
