Our winter storm continues to put down heavy snow across central and eastern Kentucky. This is the area picking up on several more inches through the evening. Roads across the entire state are snow packed and dangerous.<\/p>\n<p>What happens after tonight is now the focus of the forecast. A very robust storm system will throw a lot of moisture back into the region Monday through early Tuesday. Temps are going to be absolutely critical and the numbers, so far, haven&#8217;t been responding as much as the models thought.<\/p>\n<p>There is a ton of precipitation coming our way. Here&#8217;s the liquid breakdown&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10756\" src=\"http:\/\/weather.bloginky.com\/files\/2016\/02\/NAM-3-1.png\" sizes=\"(max-width: 698px) 100vw, 698px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/weather.bloginky.com\/files\/2016\/02\/NAM-3-1-500x342.png 500w, http:\/\/weather.bloginky.com\/files\/2016\/02\/NAM-3-1.png 698w\" alt=\"NAM 3\" width=\"698\" height=\"478\" \/>This can lead to two big problems for tomorrow and early Tuesday. If this is all rain where you live, flooding is a big concern. With snow on the ground and the ground frozen solid&#8230; runoff will be tremendous. Flooding and flash flooding are a big concern.<\/p>\n<p>The other big concern is for the potential for a heavy band of snow to develop on the backside of the low pressure. Watch how the cold air tries to crash back into the heavy precipitation&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10754\" src=\"http:\/\/weather.bloginky.com\/files\/2016\/02\/NAM-5.png\" sizes=\"(max-width: 537px) 100vw, 537px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/weather.bloginky.com\/files\/2016\/02\/NAM-5-345x500.png 345w, http:\/\/weather.bloginky.com\/files\/2016\/02\/NAM-5.png 537w\" alt=\"NAM\" width=\"537\" height=\"778\" \/>A degree or two could mean all the difference in the world. At this point&#8230; I do expect a band of moderate to heavy snow to develop somewhere across central and eastern Kentucky.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow&#8217;s setup is wild and it&#8217;s not cut and dry by any stretch of the imagination.<\/p>\n<p>I will try to get more specific with all this later tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Something else to keep in mind&#8230; even with it raining and air temps going just above freezing&#8230; the ground and roads are frozen. That can sometimes lead to icing issues, even it isn&#8217;t truly &#8220;freezing rain&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The next system quickly dives in behind this with more snow and a mix likely late Tuesday and
