As expected, gusty winds stole the weather show out there today with some areas reaching 50mph. Those winds continue to push some milder air into town and this hangs out through the weekend. Beyond that, it&#8217;s back to winter.<\/p>\n<p>A shower is possible later tonight and early Saturday&#8230; especially in the south. Rains will really increase for Sunday, but the models differ on where the heaviest drops fall. Here&#8217;s the GFS&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=18006\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-18006\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18006\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/GFS-Rain.png\" alt=\"GFS Rain\" width=\"720\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/GFS-Rain.png 720w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/GFS-Rain-300x143.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The NAM has that a little farther north&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=18005\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-18005\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18005\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/NAM-7.png\" alt=\"NAM\" width=\"692\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/NAM-7.png 692w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/NAM-7-300x144.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 692px) 100vw, 692px\" \/><\/a>Colder air comes in behind that Sunday night into Monday. That sets the stage for much more of a winter looking setup for next week. The models are still trying to figure out how to handle all the energy diving into the base of a deep trough in the east.<\/p>\n<p>The European Model is showing two systems impacting our region. The first comes Tuesday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=18009\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-18009\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18009\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Euro-6.png\" alt=\"Euro\" width=\"725\" height=\"321\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Euro-6.png 725w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Euro-6-300x133.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 725px) 100vw, 725px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It then shows the next system quickly pushing in for Wednesday with winter weather&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=18010\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-18010\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18010\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Euro-2-1.png\" alt=\"Euro 2\" width=\"559\" height=\"566\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Euro-2-1.png 559w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Euro-2-1-296x300.png 296w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 559px) 100vw, 559px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I believe we will see the models\u00a0 trend toward\u00a0a weaker first system and a stronger second system. That&#8217;s what the models were showing up until a few days ago.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of models&#8230; why is the GFS a terrible model?
