It has been one heck of a stormy last few days across the state. Tuesday brought a couple of rounds of severe weather to the state with more reports of damaging winds and large hail. We will finally be catching a break over the next few days.

All of this is fine by me as I get set to begin a new chapter in my professional life. I have spent the past few days learning new weather equipment and shooting promos for my new gig at WSAZ-TV. Check out this pic of yours truly in his new home…

Good looking weather center… same old ugly mug! <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/emoticons\/smile.png\" border=\"0\" \/> My first day on air is Thursday and then it’s away we go on the new career. I will link you the new blog and some other stuff about me on wsaz.com in the coming days.

OK… enough of your friendly weather dude. Let’s talk weather…

Hurricane Dolly is heading for a Wednesday landfall across south Texas. The Brownsville area is a likely destination for this Cat 1 80mph storm. This was the call on the blog before it ever got into the Gulf so it has been a well behaved storm. Here is a look at Dolly…

It is showing signs of ramping up a bit as it gets closer to landfall so that will have to be watched for. It’s not a huge storm but will cause the typical damage of a Cat 1 storm (though it has a shot at cat 2).

Here in Kentucky… we get a few days to see improving weather. Eastern Ky will hang on to an early day chance for a few storms Wednesday before everybody goes partly sunny. Humidity levels will be down as will temps. This will take us into Thursday as well.

Unfortunately more storms will be rolling in from the northwest beginning Friday and this may take us through the weekend into early next week. While it won’t storm all the time… some of the clusters that roll through here could be similar to those we just had.

So there we have it… the latest thoughts of a weather dude on the cusp of change. <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/emoticons\/wink.png\" border=\"0\" \/>

Take care.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Hi everyone and welcome to the middle of your work week.
