Good Thursday, everyone. Winter slammed back into the bluegrass state Wednesday as winds gusted to 50mph in a few spots. Flakes are flying today and will continue into Friday before our weekend turns much warmer. The recent roller coaster ride appears to be a sign of things to come as we head into March.<\/p>\n

Wraparound snows can put down slushy, light accumulations for some today. This would mainly be on elevated and grassy surfaces. Winds are going to continue to howl and could reach 40mph at times.<\/p>\n

Northwesterly winds continue into Friday and that should keep a few snow showers going across the central and east.<\/p>\n

Highs will be back in the 30s.<\/p>\n

This is ahead of a cold front that moves in on Monday with our next chance of showers. The push of cold air behind this doesn’t look nearly as strong as a few days ago. From there, another big storm system develops and takes aim at our region. The GFS has a familiar look…<\/p>\n

This is part of a pattern that has a lot of back and forth. That means additional wild temperature swings deep into March, and that leads to a very active pattern. Precipitation over the next two weeks…<\/p>\n
