Talk about a serious overachiever&#8230; Today&#8217;s system really took things to the max. Snows are still going strong across the eastern part of the state. Some areas have picked up greater than 6&#8243; of heavy wet snow from this system. I wouldn&#8217;t be surprised to see some power outages.<\/p>\n<p>My twitter feed has been blowing up with pics and reports showing 4&#8243;+ snow amounts. Many of these reports are also sent to the local NWS offices via twitter, however very few of them show up in the official NWS storm reports. That said, all the low end reports seem to show up. That&#8217;s happened a few other times this winter, and it&#8217;s a travesty.<\/p>\n<p>You can&#8217;t cherry pick what reports you send out. The weather does what the weather wants&#8230; no matter if we forecast it correctly or incorrectly. You have to report what has actually happened! I certainly didn&#8217;t forecast 6&#8243;: of snow today, but I&#8217;m not going to pretend like it didn&#8217;t happen.<\/p>\n<p>Off my soapbox for now. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Leftover flakes will be with us overnight and into Friday morning with slick roads in the east. Temps hang around the 32 degree mark most of the night.<\/p>\n<p>The longer range call for next week is still for spring to show up in a big, big way. Warm temps in the 70s will surge in from the south. This air is will be rather humid for this time of year.
