Thermometers are slowly on the increase across the region as springtime weather takes control for a while. The setup for the next few weeks is one that can also deliver rounds of showers and thunderstorms.<\/p>\n<p>Today will feature temps nearing 60 in the west and southwest with upper 40s to low 50s in the north and east. Clouds will continue to thin, and that means some sun will try to take over.<\/p>\n<p>We will still have to fight some clouds on Monday as temps head into the 60s for the entire state. From there, we find temps threatening to hit the 70s on days where you get more sun than storms&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=18249\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-18249\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18249\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Euro.png\" alt=\"Euro\" width=\"575\" height=\"316\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Euro.png 575w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Euro-300x165.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 575px) 100vw, 575px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The setup for the next week to 10 days is one that will feature above normal temperatures and ample moisture surging in from the Gulf of Mexico. Per my last post, this can actually be traced all the way back to the Pacific Ocean.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the dew point temperatures for later in the week&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=18250\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-18250\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18250\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/GFS-2-4.png\" alt=\"GFS 2\" width=\"658\" height=\"493\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/GFS-2-4.png 658w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/GFS-2-4-300x225.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 658px) 100vw, 658px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a ton of juice and we will likely see a significant rain and flood event unfolding across the Mississippi River Valley. Some of this action will work into our region.
