The axis of heavy rain will shift eastward later today into tonight. This means an increased threat for high water issues across western and central parts of the state.<\/p>\n<p>The NAM rainfall totals tonight are a bit alarming&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=18315\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-18315\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18315\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/NAM-8.png\" alt=\"NAM\" width=\"684\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/NAM-8.png 684w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/NAM-8-300x161.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 684px) 100vw, 684px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a lot of water falling in a short amount of time. It&#8217;s also falling on saturated ground across the western half of the state.<\/p>\n<p>The WeatherBELL\u00a0HRRR model goes through 1am Friday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=18313\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-18313\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18313\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/HRRR.png\" alt=\"HRRR\" width=\"585\" height=\"316\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/HRRR.png 585w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/HRRR-300x162.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 585px) 100vw, 585px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That shows 3&#8243;-4&#8243; totals for some areas through 1am. I would hope Flash Flood Watches would be expanded very soon to give people a heads up on the possibilities. That&#8217;s out of my control.<\/p>\n<p>After a break in the rain on Friday, additional rounds of showers and storms return over the weekend.
