Our taste of September is slowly pulling out of town and will soon be replaced by a steamy brand of air for the weekend. Our first widespread 90s of the year appear to be a lock as we head into the weekend. From there, storms try to push the heat to our south and west.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of storms, we have had no shortage of rain across Kentucky over the past few months. That can&#8217;t be said for areas around Kentucky&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=19147\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-19147\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19147\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Radar-rain-1.png\" alt=\"Radar rain 1\" width=\"996\" height=\"564\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Radar-rain-1.png 996w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Radar-rain-1-300x170.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Radar-rain-1-768x435.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 996px) 100vw, 996px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a pretty wild looking precipitation departure map from the past few months.<\/p>\n<p>Things are mainly dry around here for the next several days, though a shower or storm will be possible on Friday as heat and high humidity return. Western Kentucky can hit 90 on Friday with middle 80s in the east.<\/p>\n<p>Low 90s are possible for the entire state on Saturday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=19146\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-19146\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19146\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/GFS-TEMPS-1-2.png\" alt=\"GFS TEMPS 1\" width=\"585\" height=\"322\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/GFS-TEMPS-1-2.png 585w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/GFS-TEMPS-1-2-300x165.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 585px) 100vw, 585px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The models are split on how to handle a cold front dropping in from the north on Sunday. The Canadian presses the front way to our south. while the European has flipped and keeps it to our north and east. The GFS is a compromise&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=19144\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-19144\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19144\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/GFS-9.png\" alt=\"GFS\" width=\"748\" height=\"415\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/GFS-9.png 748w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/GFS-9-300x166.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 748px) 100vw, 748px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That could give us the threat for a storm on Sunday with slightly cooler temps moving in through Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The steam returns shortly thereafter and is likely to bring additional rounds of showers and storms. The models are now trending toward a slow-moving upper level system working in here from the northwest&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=19151\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-19151\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19151\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/GFS-10.png\" alt=\"GFS\" width=\"760\" height=\"854\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/GFS-10.png 760w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/GFS-10-267x300.png 267w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If that is indeed the case, rain and storm chances will REALLY increase.<\/p>\n<p>Be careful of anyone promoting days on end of\u00a0really hot stuff this weekend into next week.
