Good Thursday, everyone. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are back in the bluegrass state, and could cause some more issues. Local flash flooding issues may develop across the region today as slow-moving storms dump tremendous amounts of rain.<\/p>\n

A small scale low pressure is working from west to east today. This can overachieve in the rainfall category as it does so. Heavy rains falling on already saturated ground can lead to flash flooding. The greatest chance may be along and south of Interstate 64. I will have your tracking tools in a bit.<\/p>\n

A cold front moves in here on Friday with an increase in showers and storms late in the day. Some of these may become strong and put down additional heavy rains. That setup persists into Saturday as out front slowly drops through.<\/p>\n

This should set the stage for a better Sunday with mainly dry weather around.<\/p>\n

The storm train kicks back in late Tuesday and Wednesday of next week as juice comes in from the Gulf of Mexico…<\/p>\n

Something tropical may develop in the Gulf late next week into the following weekend. The European Model is showing this system drifting north and possibly being picked up by a dip in the jet stream…<\/p>\n

The GFS isn’t as robust with the tropical potential, but has a healthy trough digging in at the same time…<\/p>\n

Tropical system or not, that’s a busy setup that can bring more rounds of soaking rain producing showers and thunderstorms.<\/p>\n
