Good Sunday to one and all. Our summer of storms is taking a bit of a break out there today, as much better air moves in. Make sure to enjoy it because we have a big taste of the tropics on the way. This will be complete with crazy high humidity and additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms.<\/p>\n

The amount of moisture gathering in the northern Gulf of Mexico over the next few days is insane. This will be transported northward into the Ohio Valley in the coming days. Here’s the overall setup…<\/p>\n

Our first chance of storms will come later Monday as moisture increases from the south and east. Watch how this plume of moisture slowly heads west and sets up on top of the region into Tuesday…<\/p>\n

That has a direct pipeline to the Gulf and can put down some big time rains across our part of the world. That setup carries us into the second half of the week. This is when the European continues to advertise a potent setup for heavy rains around here and for much of the east. Watch how this SLOW-MOVING system works from the Gulf right on top of Kentucky…<\/p>\n

That’s the setup from Friday through Sunday on the model, and is a very troubling look.<\/p>\n

As far as today is concerned, I can still see a scenario that spits out isolated showers and storms in the southeast…<\/p>\n
