Summertime is putting in overtime across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Steamy temps roll on for a few more days, as scattered showers and storms join the party. If you&#8217;re looking for some much cooler air to come back into town, I&#8217;m tracking a weekend cold front that may just become your new BFF. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Highs today are back into the upper 80s to low 90s under partly sunny skies. There is the small chance for a storm or two to develop.<\/p>\n<p>Storms will increase late Thursday into Friday as our weekend front edges closer from the northwest. Temps should come down a few degrees during this time. The Canadian model is most aggressive with the storms and shows some heavy rain potential&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=19867\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-19867\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19867\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Canadian-5.png\" alt=\"Canadian\" width=\"899\" height=\"437\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Canadian-5.png 899w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Canadian-5-300x146.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Canadian-5-768x373.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 899px) 100vw, 899px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Saturday looks like the day of big changes as the front marches in&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=19862\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-19862\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19862\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Canadian-4.png\" alt=\"Canadian\" width=\"663\" height=\"818\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Canadian-4.png 663w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Canadian-4-243x300.png 243w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 663px) 100vw, 663px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A potent line of showers and storms will zip through here with gusty winds the main threat. Temps will drop like a rock behind that front with low and middle 50s showing up by Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday looks phenomenal with mainly mid to upper 70s for highs, low humidity and sunny skies. With clear skies Sunday night, I can actually see a few spots making a run at the upper 40s. The models are also showing this&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=19864\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-19864\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19864\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/GFS-TEMPS-1.png\" alt=\"GFS TEMPS 1\" width=\"629\" height=\"322\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/GFS-TEMPS-1.png 629w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/GFS-TEMPS-1-300x154.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 629px) 100vw, 629px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Temps will begin to moderate again by later Monday into Tuesday. That warmer air will be ahead of another front arriving later in the week. Can we make another run at 90 before that happens? I think it&#8217;s possible.<\/p>\n<p>The models continue to advertise some deep troughs digging into the country as the month wears on&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=19868\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-19868\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19868\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/GFS-6.png\" alt=\"GFS\" width=\"441\" height=\"425\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/GFS-6.png 441w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/GFS-6-300x289.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 441px) 100vw, 441px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I think this is\u00a0a signal of where the pattern is heading, but don&#8217;t get too attached to specific timeframes.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the time of year to start looking for snow flying across North America.
