Good Saturday everyone and welcome to a tropical weekend in the bluegrass state. A weekend that will feature more high temps and high humidity levels as we ramp up the threat for heavy rain producing thunderstorms.

There really isn’t a whole lot of difference between the weather of the next few days and what we have had for the past week or so. We will have better coverage of the showers and storms, which will knock our temps down from where they have been. The tropical airmass is going to create more in the way of heavy rains that will cause flash flooding for some. Exactly where that happens is impossible to nail down until we see where the storms set up. Some of these cells will also REALLY spit out some high winds that can cause some damage.

This same pattern will be in place for Sunday and Monday as we continue to be on guard for local severe weather and high water.

After a small dip in temps early in the week… the heat is going to try to fight back in for the middle and end of next week when heat index readings should again top out above 100 degrees.

As we head into August… a change looks to be in the air. The extreme heat and humidity of late should head back west for much of the month as a milder brand of air takes up residence across much of the eastern half of the country. That’s my story and i’m sticking’ to it.

On a side note… I am taking a MUCH needed vacation over the next week. What does that mean for the blog? Well.. nothing. You know the blog never takes a day off! Good luck trying to find another one man weather source who does that.
