The bottom has fallen out of our recent toasty thermometers and we have a few flakes flying about the air today. This is just the early stages of what looks to be a pretty healthy winter in the making.<\/p>\n<p>Friday set record highs in the mid and upper 70s across much of the state. Those numbers have dropped by more than 40 degrees by early today. If we throw in Sunday morning wind chill numbers deep onto the teens&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=20698\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-20698\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20698\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/NAM-5.png\" alt=\"nam\" width=\"770\" height=\"763\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/NAM-5.png 770w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/NAM-5-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/NAM-5-300x297.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/NAM-5-768x761.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It will feel 60 degrees colder than what we had on Friday. Let that one sink in for a bit.<\/p>\n<p>Highs today will generally range from the upper 30s to low 40s, but it&#8217;s never ever going to feel that &#8220;warm&#8221;. Dress for upper 20s and low 30s during the daylight hours and low and mid 20s this evening.<\/p>\n<p>Northwesterly winds will usher in lots of low-level moisture and the potential for a snow shower or flurry. The greatest risk continues to be across central and eastern parts of the state. There is an outside chance the highest mountains in the southeast can be dusted late tonight. Highs may not get out of the 30s in the central and east. That will set the stage for another very cold night on Sunday with lows reaching the upper teens and low 20s by Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Seasonally chilly temps will be with us for Monday and Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Another system comes in by Wednesday with rain becoming likely. What? Rain LIKELY?
