The first weekend of December is off and running and we have a very active pattern continuing to take shape. This setup will also lead to several winter weather chances as arctic air shows up next week.<\/p>\n<p>The late weekend system rolls in here with some light rain that may have a few snowflakes mixed in early in the day. The GFS is still seeing the potential&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=20971\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-20971\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20971\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/GFS-snow.png\" alt=\"gfs-snow\" width=\"582\" height=\"323\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/GFS-snow.png 582w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/GFS-snow-300x166.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 582px) 100vw, 582px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sunday just looks like a rather ugly and chilly weather day.<\/p>\n<p>The next system is much bigger and brings heavy rain back in here late Monday into Tuesday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=20970\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-20970\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20970\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/GFS-5.png\" alt=\"gfs\" width=\"1071\" height=\"419\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/GFS-5.png 1071w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/GFS-5-300x117.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/GFS-5-768x300.png 768w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/GFS-5-1024x401.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1071px) 100vw, 1071px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That could lead to another 1&#8243;+ of rain across much of the state.<\/p>\n<p>Arctic air is on the move behind this system, with the traditional timing and evolvement issues showing up with the models. The GFS is too fast and progressive, as always, with that system.<\/p>\n<p>The European Model continues to indicate a wave of low pressure developing along the boundary&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=20974\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-20974\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20974\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Euro-6.png\" alt=\"euro\" width=\"1149\" height=\"954\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Euro-6.png 1149w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Euro-6-300x249.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Euro-6-768x638.png 768w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Euro-6-1024x850.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1149px) 100vw, 1149px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That wave will likely show up stronger on the models in coming days and could deliver a stripe of snow across the region. Behind that, snow showers and flurries will likely fly around through Friday.
