It&#8217;s another week of frigid weather taking shape for the bluegrass state of Kentucky. As a matter of fact, much of the country looks to be in the deep freeze this week as two more arctic invasions take place. These should also bring winter weather back into the picture.<\/p>\n<p>Rain will wind down from west to east today as colder air moves back in. We could end things with a snowflake or two by the evening&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Arctic air moves back in here by the middle of the week as a front sags in from the northwest. As expected, the models are back to seeing a band of light snow and flurries. Brr!<\/p>\n<p>This sets the stage for an interesting couple of systems starting Friday and taking us through the weekend and into early Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The new version of the GFS&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=21193\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-21193\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21193\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/GFS-3.gif\" alt=\"gfs\" width=\"1024\" height=\"696\" \/><\/a>That model shows a mix developing then going over to rain from Friday into Saturday. As another arctic front moves in behind it by Sunday, you can see a low pressure developing along it with ice and snow.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian offers a similar idea&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=21190\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-21190\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21190\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/canadian-4.gif\" alt=\"canadian\" width=\"1024\" height=\"696\" \/><\/a>The temperature ride with that from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning is pretty fun to look at. As far as the snow and ice chances go with these systems, we are many days away from figuring all that out.<\/p>\n<p>I will update things a few times later today.
