Arctic air is poised to blast into the bluegrass state tonight, bringing the coldest air of the season to date. From there, the forecast for the weekend continues to get a little wild with temperatures and precipitation types for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>The arctic cold arrives tonight and the short range, higher resolution models are coming in colder than the typical models we look at. The RAP temperature forecast for Thursday morning&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=21252\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-21252\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21252\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/RAP.png\" alt=\"rap\" width=\"652\" height=\"601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/RAP.png 652w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/RAP-300x277.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 652px) 100vw, 652px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Man, that&#8217;s some cold stuff. This front may have some flakes along it this evening&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That cold remains into Friday as we await the arrive of the next system. Overrunning moisture returns by Friday evening and could be in the form of a mix. Temps can make a run at 60 for many areas on a gusty southwesterly wind. Showers and some thunderstorms will be possible as an arctic front moves in here. That front arrives Saturday night with a switch to a wintry mix of sleet, freezing rain and snow behind it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=21248\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-21248\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21248\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/canadian-8.gif\" alt=\"canadian\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Does that only last for an hour or two, or a little longer? Obviously the longer it goes, the more problems we would see.
