We have some wicked weather pushing across the region over the next couple of days. By wicked, I mean big temperature swings to go along with thunderstorms to be followed by some sleet and snow.<\/p>\n<p>Overall , my thoughts on the whole setup have not changed. Here&#8217;s a quick breakdown of how things look to play out this weekend.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Highs today surge into the low 60s on a strong southwesterly wind. Showers and thunderstorms will develop into a line by afternoon and evening.<\/li>\n<li>Arctic air diving in behind this line will undercut it, leading to a quick switch to sleet and some snow. That\u2019s not going to last more than a few hours, but can put down some light accumulations\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=21309\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-21309\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21309\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/nam.png\" alt=\"nam\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/nam.png 1024w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/nam-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/nam-768x576.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Icy roads will be possible as temps drop into the low 20s Sunday morning.<\/li>\n<li>Temps will hold steady and may drop into the teens during the afternoon in the west and central. This air mass is arctic and coming off a deep snowpack to our northwest.
