Good afternoon, everyone. The first round of snow was a big time overachiever across parts of the region. This dropped a good 2″-3″\u00a0across parts of the southeast, with more to come for the entire region.<\/p>\n

I mentioned the snows coming in waves and that still looks to be the case. The southwestern part of the state gets the least in all this, but that was the forecast all along.<\/p>\n

With these additional waves coming in through tonight, most (not all)\u00a0areas should hit the snow range we have been talking about. Areas in southeastern Kentucky are now very likely to pick up totals greater than 4″ before all is said and done. That’s actually warning criteria snow.<\/p>\n

What about the next system developing across the south Friday into Saturday? This continues to edge a bit farther west and north, which is why I have never written this thing off. The current model consensus is for some additional accumulations across southeastern Kentucky.<\/p>\n

Back here in Kentucky, bitterly cold air will dominate the weekend forecast with high teens and low 20s by day and single digit lows at night. There is a slight chance for a snow shower or flurry on Sunday as the flow is off the Great Lakes for a time.<\/p>\n
