I wanted to drop by for a quick update on where this pattern is going this weekend into next week. The short story is&#8230; Winter is coming.<\/p>\n<p>The NAM continues to look like the leader with the weekend storm system as all the modelling is trending that direction. That ups the ante for some heavy rains, and we are also now seeing my fear of a few flakes trying to mix in on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the NAM&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=22165\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-22165\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-22165\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/NAM-3.gif\" alt=\"NAM\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That would produce scattered thunderstorms going up on Saturday with the potential for heavy rain and storms into Sunday. There&#8217;s even the chance for strong storms in the southwester part of the state. Notice the pockets of blue showing up from time to time across the region by Monday?
