It&#8217;s been a very ugly day across central and eastern Kentucky with very gusty winds and rounds of rain. The rain has caused some minor flooding issues across the area we highlighted in the east. Now, we start to focus on winter blowing back in here before the week is done.<\/p>\n<p>A cold front moves in on Wednesday with gusty winds and showers. Much colder air then filters in behind this front as snow showers and light snow kicks in on a northwesterly wind flow by Thursday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=22227\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-22227\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-22227\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/GFS-17.png\" alt=\"GFS\" width=\"414\" height=\"478\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/GFS-17.png 414w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/GFS-17-260x300.png 260w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 414px) 100vw, 414px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Periods of light snow, flurries and snow showers will then be noted Friday into Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>In my last update, I mentioned the potential for one of these systems to dig deeper and amplify into something just a little bigger. Again, it&#8217;s one model run that will show something a little different with each run. It&#8217;s a cumulative thing. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>The overall pattern continues to throw cold shots into the country with arctic air getting into the mix.
