We have a light snow maker ready to blow across the bluegrass state today. This will put down enough snow to cause some travel issues at times, especially this evening into Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s break down how this system may play out&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The day starts with snow showers and flurries across the south and east. That action can be just feisty enough to put down some light accumulations.<\/li>\n<li>The main system dives in from the northwest later this afternoon and evening. That&#8217;s when an overall swath of light snow develops across much of the region.<\/li>\n<li>Embedded within this light snow will be streaks of moderate to heavy snow squalls. Those really complicate the forecast and can cause some big variations in totals in just a few miles.<\/li>\n<li>There continues to be just enough instability for a thunder mention with one of these snow squalls.<\/li>\n<li>My overall thoughts on accumulations haven&#8217;t changed much, but I&#8217;ve tried to hone in a little more&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12250\" src=\"http:\/\/weather.bloginky.com\/files\/2017\/01\/Special-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"786\" height=\"547\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Those numbers and lines are not absolute by any means, especially with snow squalls entering the equation. There will be some holes in there where you come in with the under. On the flip side, there will be some spots likely hitting the over.<\/p>\n<p>Winds are going to be very gusty during this time, so you can get some mini blizzard looking squalls late this afternoon into this evening.
