Temps are actually bordering on the normal side of the thermometer today. In a weather world gone mad, you know this won&#8217;t last very long. We have a small taste of winter in the days ahead, then we run the risk of record highs this weekend and early next week.<\/p>\n<p>Highs today are generally in the 40s with a mix of sun and clouds. Ok, that&#8217;s enough of the normal part of the program.<\/p>\n<p>Highs on Tuesday will hit the 50s as winds crank ahead of a strong system diving in from the northwest. This system will have a push of winter behind it, and tries to pick up a southern stream system. Odds continue to favor this as being &#8220;close but no cigar&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=22636\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-22636\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-22636\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/GFS-14.png\" alt=\"GFS\" width=\"1131\" height=\"964\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/GFS-14.png 1131w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/GFS-14-300x256.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/GFS-14-768x655.png 768w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/GFS-14-1024x873.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1131px) 100vw, 1131px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some snow showers and flurries can kick in for a bit, as winds become northwesterly.<\/p>\n<p>The shot of cold behind that is in and out of town quickly, leaving the door wide open for a SERIOUS surge of spring.
