Good Monday and Happy 4th of July. As we celebrate our nation’s independence… showers and thunderstorms will add a little spark to the sky for many areas. This means we will have to run for cover at times today and these boomers may impact some parades and fireworks displays.

Let’s break it down with the headlines…

– A weak wave of low pressure is working eastward across the state today and will give the atmosphere a little boost of energy to get storms cranking.

– Any storm today can briefly go severe with torrential rains.

– Highs will generally run in the 80s and it will be very muggy.

– Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible each day this week with the highest threat coming today then again by Thursday or Friday with another front.

– Temps this week will be warm and not hot. The heat ridge is heading into the western half of the country leaving us into a warm and humid pattern.

– After today… the blog will get back to doing our typical thing of making maps and begin throwing out some thoughts about the months ahead. We may even start to talk about that one season you guys seem to love so much.
