Frigid temps are engulfing the eastern half of the country and that includes the bluegrass state. It doesn&#8217;t get much colder this time of year as we will find readings deep into the teens the next few mornings. I&#8217;m also tracking some snow showers and flurries.<\/p>\n<p>Our day starts with the potential for some slick spots out there with temps in the 20s. Some morning light snow can leave a little slush around, so keep that in mind.<\/p>\n<p>Northwesterly winds will then really kick in later today into the evening&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=23099\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23099\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23099\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/NAM-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"626\" height=\"526\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/NAM-5.png 626w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/NAM-5-300x252.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 626px) 100vw, 626px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That flow will likely bring some moisture our way from the Great Lakes. Look for some snow showers and squalls to kick in later in the day and those can drop some local accumulations. Outside of that, expect partly cloudy skies with gusty winds.<\/p>\n<p>Track the local flakes&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While we are getting in on this, a MAJOR blizzard is smacking the east coast. This thing is massive and will cause all kinds of issues. The interactive radar will allow you to follow the storm and to see live storm chaser video&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=9nNfA2mOMDiJ4LG\" width=\"560\" height=\"462\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Back in the bluegrass state, frigid temps in the teens will be noted for Wednesday and Thursday. A few record lows may be challenged.<\/p>\n<p>Friday will find milder winds for a brief period as showers increase ahead of another system diving in from the northwest. This will also try to ramp up to our east, pulling down more cold air and some snow showers on Saturday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=23103\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23103\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23103\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/GFS-2-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"589\" height=\"459\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/GFS-2-1.png 589w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/GFS-2-1-300x234.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 589px) 100vw, 589px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Another brief rebound in temps is possible later Sunday into Monday, but the cold presses back in after that.
