We have a very windy day with rounds of showers and thunderstorms impacting the region. Some of these can be strong, but this is likely the opening act for some wild weather on the way for later this week. We may go from severe storms to snow showers in a 24 hour period. Yowza.<\/p>\n<p>A potent storm moves into the Ohio Valley on Wednesday, creating lines of strong to severe storms racing across the region. The SPC has much of the state in a slight risk for severe storms&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=23295\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23295\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23295\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/SPC.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"385\" height=\"430\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/SPC.png 385w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/SPC-269x300.png 269w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 385px) 100vw, 385px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 3km NAM shows a healthy line of severe storms racing eastward across the state Wednesday afternoon and evening&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=23293\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23293\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23293\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/NAM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"498\" height=\"276\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/NAM.png 498w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/NAM-300x166.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 498px) 100vw, 498px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ahead of that, temps may make a run at 80 degrees on a strong southwesterly wind.<\/p>\n<p>Behind the front&#8230; look out. The weather for Thursday and Friday looks about as nasty as you can get this time of year, with a shot of winter weather moving in. Wrap around rain and snow showers will be likely as winds gust to 40mph&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=23291\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23291\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23291\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/GFS-GIf-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Highs may struggle to get to 40 degrees both days, and I can&#8217;t rule out a little slushy accumulation Thursday night across the east.
