Good Monday, everyone. Things are starting off on a very cold note, with frost and a light freeze for some this morning. This cold pattern will give way to a stormy one that will bring heavy rains our way over the next few days. Additional showers and storms later this week will bring another round of chilly weather by the weekend.<\/p>\n
Let’s start with today and roll forward. Temps in the central and east will start in the upper 20s to low 30s and finish in the 65-70 degree range. The west will see readings in the low 70s.<\/p>\n
Clouds will increase later today as warmer air begins to push in from the southwest. The leading edge of this warm air will fire up rounds of northwest to southeast moving thunderstorms for the central and eastern parts of Kentucky. These storms can be on the loud side and produce heavy rains over the next few days.<\/p>\n

Rain totals of 1″-2″ will be possible, with locally higher amounts. Recent runs of the NAM would indicate a flash flood threat…<\/p>\n The GFS has been playing catch up on this, but it’s getting there…<\/p>\n That arm air can only get so far north and east into Kentucky, setup up a boundary with additional shwoers and storms along it.
