Heat lovers, rejoice!!! Some real deal summertime heat and humidity is ready to take control of the pattern for a while. This settles in through the week and into the upcoming weekend, but storms and a cooler setup settle in next week.<\/p>\n<p>Highs today are in the mid and upper 80s across the east with low 90s in the west.<\/p>\n<p>Highs by Wednesday start to really heat up with near 90 east and 95 in the west. Temps from Thursday through Saturday are generally 90-95 for much of central and eastern Kentucky, with highs that MAY flirt with 100 in a few spots across the west.<\/p>\n<p>Thu heat index will be an even bigger player with values from 100-110 possible.<\/p>\n<p>What about the chances for a few storms in the coming days? Those chances are rather small, but I can&#8217;t rule out pop up stuff going up. There&#8217;s a chance out there today, too.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The threat for storms will then increase late this weekend into early next week&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=24147\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-24147\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24147\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/GFS-2-4.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"696\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s when a deep trough digs into the eastern half of the country, with much cooler air settling in.
