Our fall weather pattern continues to settle in much earlier than normal across our part of the world. Another big fall front is crashing across the state today, ushering in another round of very cool temps. As all this happens, we are keeping a close eye on powerful Hurricane Irma.<\/p>\n<p>Showers and storms will be common across the state early today, but should become more isolated this afternoon and evening. Winds will be very gusty, with some heavy downpours likely in the storms&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=9nNfA2mOMDiJ4LG\" width=\"560\" height=\"462\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Behind this front comes a HUGE trough digging in across the eastern half of the country. The air with this is so cold that lake effect rain showers will be likely and some of those drop into Kentucky&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=24621\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-24621\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24621\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/GFS.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"412\" height=\"436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/GFS.png 412w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/GFS-283x300.png 283w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 412px) 100vw, 412px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That would be a nice flow to see in the winter months! As is, it&#8217;s only the first week of September, so we have to settle for some rain showers, gusty winds and highs in the 60s Wednesday and Thursday. Lows should drop into the 40s and may flirt with a record or two if overnight skies clear.<\/p>\n<p>Our weekend looks really good with sunshine and temps in the low and middle 70s.<\/p>\n<p>Hurricane Irma continues to churn west toward the Caribbean and is likely to impact the United States this weekend.\u00a0The\u00a0track on Irma\u00a0keeps shifting farther south&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"coneimage\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/storm_graphics\/AT11\/refresh\/AL112017_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind+png\/205603_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind.png\" alt=\"cone graphic\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The latest GFS continues to target Florida, then slowly works our way&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=24626\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-24626\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24626\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/GFS-GIf-3.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the rain map with that run&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=24625\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-24625\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24625\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/GFS-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"614\" height=\"603\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/GFS-2.png 614w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/GFS-2-300x295.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 614px) 100vw, 614px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The new Canadian takes Irma into the eastern Gulf with a landfall around the Florida Peninsula, and still gets rain into Kentucky&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=24624\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-24624\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24624\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Canadian.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Canadian.png 620w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Canadian-300x291.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The latest GFS Ensembles from Tropical Tidbits\u00a0show the various tracks from each member&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tropicaltidbits.com\/storminfo\/11L_gefs_latest.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They also give us a look a the different hurricane model tracks (spaghetti plots)&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tropicaltidbits.com\/storminfo\/11L_tracks_latest.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There is still a long way to go with Irma, but the Florida\/eastern Gulf idea is gaining a tremendous amount of steam.<\/p>\n<p>Make it a great day and take care.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good Tuesday, everyone.
