Good Monday everyone and welcome to an active weather week across our region. This week will also feature some big changes to our temps as a things start toasty and end on a much cooler note. Getting from point A to point B could be a bumpy ride.

Speaking bumpy rides… much of the commonwealth had some booming storms over the weekend. These storms dropped some serious rains for a lot of folks. Check out the radar estimated totals from the past several days…



Today will feature a few more rounds of showers and storms with the greatest concentration will be in central and eastern Kentucky. Some of these storms may be strong or severe and put down more torrential rains. We will have all that covered with the tracking tools in a bit.

Outside of showers and storms today… temps will surge into the upper 80s to low 90s. The hottest air will be located into far western Kentucky.

Temps on Tuesday will head toward 90 for many as humidity levels really crank up. A scattered shower or thunderstorm will be possible in the afternoon or evening.

Wednesday looks to be a very stormy day around here as a strong cold front moves in from the west. This has the look of a widespread severe weather day from the plains into the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes and that would put us in the line of fire.

Scattered storms may hang tough Thursday into Friday and possibly the coming weekend as much cooler air moves in. Check out the temp departure from the GFS Ensembles…
