Fall is here and the temperatures are feeling the part as we head into the weekend. It&#8217;s hard to believe October starts on Sunday, but that makes me a happy camper. We are now into my favorite time of year, with winter just around the corner.<\/p>\n<p>Our day starts in the 40s with patchy fog in the valleys. Highs will be in the70-75 degree range for many, with slightly higher numbers in the west and south.<\/p>\n<p>A weak cold front arrives late today, with an increase in clouds and just a small chance for a shower&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Temps behind the front look awesome. Saturday starts in the 40s and ends with most thermometers stuck in the upper 60s&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=24843\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-24843\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24843\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/NAM-2-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"925\" height=\"614\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/NAM-2-1.png 925w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/NAM-2-1-300x199.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/NAM-2-1-768x510.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 925px) 100vw, 925px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sunday morning looks chilly and I can see some pockets of upper 30s showing up in some of the cool valleys. The NAM is close&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=24844\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-24844\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24844\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/NAM-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"919\" height=\"617\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/NAM-3.png 919w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/NAM-3-300x201.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/NAM-3-768x516.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 919px) 100vw, 919px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Highs on Sunday should be back into the low 70s for central and eastern Kentucky, with middle 70s in the west. It looks like a gorgeous start to October.<\/p>\n<p>What happens next week will have a lot to do with the tropics. We are likely to see a weak system form near the coast of Florida this weekend or early next week&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"twofig2d\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/xgtwo\/two_atl_2d0.png\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#twomap2d0\" width=\"900\" name=\"twofig2d\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That system then works westward across Florida and into the Gulf. Does it develop or fizzle out? The European model says it fizzles letting a cold front move in by late Wednesday or Thursday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=24849\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-24849\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24849\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Euro-8.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"462\" height=\"496\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Euro-8.png 462w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Euro-8-279x300.png 279w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 462px) 100vw, 462px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ahead of that front, temps could hit the low 80s.<\/p>\n<p>The European Model then follows that up with another weak front by next weekend&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=24847\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-24847\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24847\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Euro-2-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"465\" height=\"488\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Euro-2-4.png 465w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Euro-2-4-286x300.png 286w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 465px) 100vw, 465px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You can see another system showing up near the Bahamas\u00a0 on the map above.
