A potent disturbance is working into the Ohio Valley today, bringing more showers and thunderstorms our way. A few of these storms may even be on the strong side. Looking longer range, changes show up as the tropics finally slow down.<\/p>\n<p>Today will feature clusters of showers and storms working in from west to east. There is a risk for strong to severe storms going up, especially across the western and central parts of the state&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/public\/state\/images\/KY_swody1.png\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These storms may also put down heavy rains, with some areas picking up 1&#8243;+. The air behind this front is trending cooler as we get closer. Take a look at the big temp drop going on across Kentucky by Wednesday afternoon&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=24987\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-24987\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24987\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/NAM-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"881\" height=\"719\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/NAM-1.png 881w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/NAM-1-300x245.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/NAM-1-768x627.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 881px) 100vw, 881px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That looks like a typical fall front, with cooler air settling in behind this into Friday.
