Milder winds are blowing and those winds are about to become the main weather story of the weekend. If you&#8217;re a regular reader, the blog has had you prepared for this storm for about a week now. If you&#8217;re not a regular reader&#8230;What are you waiting for? \ud83d\ude42 I kid&#8230; Kinda.<\/p>\n<p>Wind gusts of 50mph or higher will develop later tonight into Saturday, and these winds will likely cause some damage&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=25869\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-25869\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-25869\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/NAM-18.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"898\" height=\"602\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/NAM-18.png 898w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/NAM-18-300x201.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/NAM-18-768x515.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 898px) 100vw, 898px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t a one and done wind gust we are talking about, this is an all day event of winds occasionally topping 50mph.<\/p>\n<p>A powerhouse of a cold front will then sweep eastward across the state during the afternoon, potentially brining strong to severe thunderstorms&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/public\/state\/images\/KY_swody2.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Cold air then crashes in behind this front&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=25867\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-25867\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-25867\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/GFS-21.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"830\" height=\"982\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/GFS-21.png 830w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/GFS-21-254x300.png 254w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/GFS-21-768x909.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 830px) 100vw, 830px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That means the potential for snowflakes to show up as early as late Saturday evening into the wee hours of Sunday morning.
