This is a really short update, focusing on the clipper rolling in here this weekend. A strong northwesterly flow is going to try and pick up some Lake Michigan moisture and bring it into our region. That&#8217;s a good thing if you like the flakes.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian Model continues to bring a southeastern US snow system VERY close to the mountains of southeastern Kentucky. At the same time, it shows our clipper diving into the region, allowing for a strong northwesterly wind to pick up moisture from Lake Michigan. This is pointed right toward central and eastern Kentucky late Saturday into Saturday night&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=26404\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-26404\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26404\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Canadian-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1126\" height=\"1264\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Canadian-4.png 1126w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Canadian-4-267x300.png 267w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Canadian-4-768x862.png 768w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Canadian-4-912x1024.png 912w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1126px) 100vw, 1126px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a healthy lake effect look from\u00a03 days out, and one that would aid in the development of widespread snow showers and squalls in our region.<\/p>\n<p>The GFS is having some &#8216;too progressive&#8217; issues along the east coast, and that impacts the clipper behind it. I can see some 1&#8243;-2&#8243; (maybe not for everyone)\u00a0amounts setting up within this action. Maybe locally more in the mountains?
