We have a cold front rumbling across Kentucky, bringing gusty winds and some rumbles of thunder. This is the first of two cold fronts I&#8217;m tracking through the coming weekend, with the second one having a little more of a winter look with it.<\/p>\n<p>As usual, let&#8217;s begin with today and stumble our way down the weather road.<\/p>\n<p>Temps are mild ahead of our front, but the winds are cranking out there. Gusts of 40-45mph are possible, especially across central and western Kentucky. Showers and isolated thunderstorms are also rolling eastward&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=9nNfA2mOMDiJ4LG\" width=\"560\" height=\"462\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The cold front sweeps to our east tonight, with a colder wind setting in from the northwest. That wind may fire up a rain or snow shower Tuesday into Tuesday night&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=27724\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-27724\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27724\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GFS-19.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"839\" height=\"771\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GFS-19.png 839w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GFS-19-300x276.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GFS-19-768x706.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 839px) 100vw, 839px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A seasonal chill will then last into Wednesday, before temps jump back up later in the week.<\/p>\n<p>This jump is ahead of another system working our way this weekend. The GFS is flatter and more progressive than recent runs of the European Model&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=27726\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-27726\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27726\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GFS-GIf-14.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"696\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Colder air comes in behind that storm, with the potential for some winter weather. That should be followed up by another rebound in temps to close out January.<\/p>\n<p>It continues to look like a big flip back to a very wintry pattern as we head into February.
