Colder winds continue to blow across the bluegrass state, but this is nothing like the pattern we had for late December into the first half of January. That may return as we head into early February. Until then&#8230; The next week features seasonal chill and very mild temps doing a little battle.<\/p>\n<p>A weak system crosses the state tonight, producing snow showers and flurries, potentially producing some coatings. Track along&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=9nNfA2mOMDiJ4LG\" width=\"560\" height=\"462\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Temps on Wednesday are actually colder than today, and another streak of flakes may impact the northeastern part of the state.<\/p>\n<p>Temps rebound by the end of the week as another system moves our way for the weekend. The GFS and European Models are now similar with the evolution of our late Saturday-Sunday system, keeping this fairly progressive. That solution means rain that can end as a few flakes&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=27759\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-27759\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27759\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GFS-GIf-16.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Canadian Model flipped to what prior runs of the European Model had been showing, with a healthier storm and a better chance for some snow&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=27755\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-27755\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27755\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/canadian-9.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the moment, the pattern favors the progressive solution.<\/p>\n<p>Why do I think that? Because the flip back to a harsh winter pattern may keep things moving along in front of it. We are seeing the flip getting going late next week, with the first week of February seeing the brutal cold coming back into the country. For me, you know it&#8217;s the time of year I start cheering on springtime weather.
