Our Friday forecast is looking absolutely amazing, with temps that will have you thinking spring. Soak that one up because some soaking rains are on the way for the weekend. This leads us into a changeable forecast as we get set to end January and say hello to February.<\/p>\n<p>60 degree temps are a good bet on Friday as gusty southwesterly winds kick in. Those winds may reach 40mph or greater into early Saturday. That&#8217;s when showers increase from west to east. Those will carry us into early Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>A second front then dives in by Sunday night, introducing a cold northwesterly wind&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=27807\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-27807\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27807\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GFS-2-13.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"422\" height=\"412\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GFS-2-13.png 422w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GFS-2-13-300x293.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 422px) 100vw, 422px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This northwesterly wind&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=27808\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-27808\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27808\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GFS-3-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"756\" height=\"501\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GFS-3-2.png 756w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GFS-3-2-300x199.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 756px) 100vw, 756px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Will likely lead to snow showers and flurries kicking in and taking us through Tuesday. This air looks colder and colder as we get closer. Highs may not get much past 30 with lows dropping into the teens.<\/p>\n<p>The late week system continues to look fairly potent. An arctic front working in from the northwest will have a slow-moving wave of low pressure developing along it, leading to the potential for significant winter weather in our region.<\/p>\n<p>The GFS keeps showing this very well for next Thursday and Friday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=27811\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-27811\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27811\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GFS-9.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We shall see how all that works out, but the signal for an Ohio Valley winter weather event.<\/p>\n<p>The snow signals are also there on the Ensembles.
