We continue to track a cold front across Kentucky, bringing an increase in snow showers to the region. This is the opening act of what should be another prolonged period of winter weather.<\/p>\n<p>As the cold front sweeps east today, temps drop in a hurry. Snow showers will then kick in behind the boundary, with light accumulations possible into tonight, especially across the east. A Winter Weather Advisory is our for far southeastern parts of the state. An inch or so is possible in these areas.<\/p>\n<p>Track away&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=9nNfA2mOMDiJ4LG\" width=\"560\" height=\"462\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Watch for some slick spots on area roads later tonight and early Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The end of the week system continues to get pushed by another system quickly moving in behind it for the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Rain develops on Thursday, with a transition to snow before the precipitation quickly moves away. Here&#8217;s the Canadian&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=27923\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-27923\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27923\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/canadian-17.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The GFS is similar&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=27927\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-27927\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27927\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/GFS-GIf-26.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Given the very quick movement of that system, light accumulations may be as good as it gets.
