Heavy rain continues to cause issues across southern and eastern Kentucky, and we have more rain to come tonight and Sunday. The flood threat continues to increase in these areas.<\/p>\n<p>Rainfall today has been very impressive in these areas&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=28250\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-28250\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-28250\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/mesonet.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1021\" height=\"445\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/mesonet.png 1021w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/mesonet-300x131.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/mesonet-768x335.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1021px) 100vw, 1021px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Total rainfall of 4&#8243;+ are possible in the southern and southeastern parts of the state. This will increase the flood threat, with flooding along the Cumberland and Kentucky Rivers likely becoming a big problem. Moderate flooding is forecast along the Cumberland in Knox and Whitley counties.<\/p>\n<p>If you live in a low-lying or flood prone area, please stay alert tonight and Sunday. The European Model brings a cold front in here by Friday, with a slow-moving wave of low pressure along it.
