Good Saturday, everyone. Our weather setup today into early Sunday has the potential to become a major flood event for parts of Kentucky. The flooding rains will also be accompanied by an increasing risk for strong and severe storms this afternoon and evening.<\/p>\n

Rounds of showers and storms are rumbling across the state through the day, with the potential for flooding issues to develop.<\/p>\n

The main action arrives late today in the west, with bands of strong to severe thunderstorms developing. These storms will roll eastward across the rest of the state later this evening into early Sunday morning. Damaging winds are the main severe weather threat, but a few tornadoes cannot be ruled out, especially in the west.<\/p>\n

These storms will also bring TORRENTIAL rains with them. This may very well lead to major flooding issues developing, with the greatest threat coming across western and central parts of the state. These areas have already had several inches of rain in recent days, so it will not take much to cause some big issues.<\/p>\n
