Welcome to winter&#8230; Ehh&#8230; Spring. Spring officially arrived at 12:15, but the forecast looks more like the heart of wintertime across Kentucky. Snow is developing in western Kentucky and will roll eastward through Wednesday, putting down slushy accumulations along the way.<\/p>\n<p>After looking over the latest model data and current conditions, I can&#8217;t find too much to change to the ongoing snow forecast&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-29103\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Winter-3.png\" sizes=\"(max-width: 902px) 100vw, 902px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Winter-3.png 902w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Winter-3-300x158.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Winter-3-768x404.png 768w\" alt=\"\" width=\"902\" height=\"475\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A few points to ponder:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is a slushy snowfall, sticking to grassy and elevated surfaces before anything else.<\/li>\n<li>A few roads may become slick or, temporarily, snow covered by Wednesday morning as temps go below freezing.<\/li>\n<li>The range in totals is because of pockets of higher totals and lower totals. This is not a uniform snowfall. Northeastern Kentucky has the best chance to wind up on the &#8220;under&#8221; side of the forecast. That&#8217;s where a slight &#8220;warm wedge&#8221; may keep the rain a little longer.<\/li>\n<li>On the flip side, areas of north central Kentucky continue to be the prime locations to watch for overachieving snows, hence the bump in totals compared to the rest of the state.<\/li>\n<li>Winds will be very gusty and may approach 30mph at times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A Winter Weather Advisory is out for much of the state. I wouldn&#8217;t be surprised to see an upgrade to a warning in the areas I&#8217;ve outlined&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"homepage_map\" src=\"http:\/\/maps8.pivotalweather.com\/maps\/warnings\/nwshaz.us_ov.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I will update everything on WKYT-TV starting at 4pm.
