Good afternoon, everyone. Snow continues across the region, but the action slowly winds down through the rest of the day. This latest winter storm is leaving behind several slushy inches of the white stuff, as our March of discontent rolls on.<\/p>\n

The Louisville metro took the brunt of the snow, with some local amounts reaching double digits. I’m glad I added\u00a0the “locally higher” line to the 4″-8″ forecast\u00a0for that region. \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0Additional light accumulations are possible for the rest of the day across the entire region. Here’s a look at the current advisories…<\/p>\n

Let’s start to focus more on a Saturday storm system rolling our way. This is will likely be a big deal and I’m likely to upgrade to a Winter Storm THREAT later today, for parts of the state.<\/p>\n

The storm moving in will have a MEGA temperature gradient to work with. Look at the afternoon temps on Saturday…<\/p>\n

That’s more than a 40 degree difference from western Kentucky into northern parts of the state. Just… Wow! Heavy rain, heavy snow and thunderstorms develop as a potent low rides that boundary…<\/p>\n

The models continue to point toward northern and northeastern Kentucky for the potential of a significant snowstorm Saturday and Saturday night. The GFS isn’t shy with the snow…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

That band could set up farther north or farther south, depending on where the temperature gradient settles in. Regardless, somewhere in our region is likely to get smacked. Does that include Kentucky? The odds are pretty high as of now, but that’s not set in stone.<\/p>\n
