Good afternoon, everyone. Our Winter storm continues to put down significant snows across parts of the state. Our corridor of heavy snow is setting up in the areas we have been highlighting for the past several days.<\/p>\n

In the overall scheme of things, the forecast from yesterday\u00a0is working out very well…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Some areas in the highest range will fall into the “locally higher” range, meaning this is our third 6″+ snowstorm in less than 2 weeks.\u00a0I will not be surprised to see another\u00a0double digit\u00a0snowfall report.\u00a0That’s historic for anytime of year, let alone the middle of March.<\/p>\n

I’m still amazed at the lack of the Winter Storm Warning deeper into southeastern Kentucky, and the “jump” in the advisory in southwestern West Virginia…<\/p>\n

Sigh.<\/p>\n

We continue to be on guard for the possibility of local high water issues. Some areas may push 2″ of rain today, so watch the creeks and streams. Some thunder is even possible today.<\/p>\n

Oh and it’s 70 degrees in far western Kentucky.<\/p>\n

As we look down the weather road, temps rebound into the first half of next week, with showers and a few storms possible. I’m not liking the looks of the setup from late week into Easter Weekend. The upper levels are primed to develop another big storm system for our region, that could bring additional winter weather. Watch this trough dig in and take on a negative tilt…<\/p>\n

The models are just now beginning to see the storm system developing from that…<\/p>\n
