We continue to watch another ugly system rolling into the state, bringing a cold rain for most, with some rain and snow in the north. This kicks off a very wild start to April, with winter and spring still duking it out.<\/p>\n<p>In the short term, rain will increase this evening and may be locally heavy at times. Scattered storms pop Monday night along a warm front, lifting to the north. Thai opens the floodgates for a strong southwesterly wind, boosting Tuesday temps deep into the 70s.<\/p>\n<p>As a strong cold front moves in Tuesday night, showers and storms become fairly widespread&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=29382\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-29382\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-29382\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Canadian.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"508\" height=\"465\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Canadian.png 508w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Canadian-300x275.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 508px) 100vw, 508px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some of the storms may be strong, with a few trying to go severe. The SPC has us in a Marginal risk&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=29386\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-29386\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-29386\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/SPC.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"474\" height=\"464\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/SPC.png 474w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/SPC-300x294.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Damaging wind is the primary player, at this point.<\/p>\n<p>Temps drop some 30-40 degrees behind the front into Wednesday, with the potential of a few flakes flying.<\/p>\n<p>This cold air holds tough through the rest of next week into the following weekend. It gets reinforced by another cold front Thursday night. That may produce some rain and snow as it moves in and slows down.
