Our spring snowmaker is looking a little better organized and a touch slower. This should bring a swath of history making snows across much of the state tonight into Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>As mentioned before, the bar is low for historic snows for the month of April. If we use Lexington as our baseline, it only takes 1&#8243; to become one of the top 10 snowiest Aprils of all time. My updated call for snowfall shows many areas with the potential to eclipse that&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=29486\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-29486\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-29486\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Special-2-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"882\" height=\"426\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Special-2-1.png 882w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Special-2-1-300x145.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Special-2-1-768x371.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 882px) 100vw, 882px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve opened up by range to include much more real estate, because the swath of snow looks healthier and will last deeper into Saturday. I&#8217;ve also tried to highlight the southeastern mountains, where some higher\u00a0amounts may occur.\u00a0Instead of ending early, the snow band may linger into the afternoon, especially across the east&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=29487\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-29487\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-29487\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/GFS-GIf-4.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As we inch closer to this, you can see how the storm is just\u00a0a little strung out. This is turning out to be a much closer call with a crusher than it looked like yesterday. Gotta watch for last minute trends tonight.<\/p>\n<p>A Winter Weather Advisory is out for much of central and eastern Kentucky&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"homepage_map\" src=\"http:\/\/maps8.pivotalweather.com\/maps\/warnings\/nwshaz.us_ov.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Obviously, I think those should be expanded to include much of the state.<\/p>\n<p>I will be updating the forecast on WKYT-TV starting at 4pm.
