Winter continues to throw punches at us, with snow showers and squalls rolling across the state today. This was actually a pretty impressive system given the time of year. As we look forward, it has to get better. Right?<\/p>\n<p>Snow showers will slowly diminish this evening, but some light accumulations will still\u00a0be possible. That&#8217;s especially the case across the Eastern Kentucky mountains. As that action moves away and skies clear, get ready for a hard freeze. Readings may not get out of the 40s for highs.<\/p>\n<p>The next storm system still looks to arrive later this weekend. It&#8217;s a bowling ball looking storm, with Kentucky as one of the pins&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=29633\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-29633\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-29633\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/GFS-4.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That system continues to trend slower with the arrival time, and is also trending farther south. That could make for an interesting setup into the first half of next week as another cold shot dives into the country.
